Today, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra released the following statement in honor of this Juneteenth Day of Observance:
"On Juneteenth, we honor the enduring legacy and contributions of African Americans to our nation. We also recognize the ongoing struggles against disparities and injustices that persist. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is resolutely committed to advancing health equity and ensuring that all Americans have access to quality health care and support. Let us stand in solidarity, honoring the resilience and strength of the Black community, and continue striving for a society where freedom and equality are realities for all. Happy Juneteenth."
