How the Conference Advanced the Mission of the Agency: The purpose of the conference is to
develop coalitions which is a requirement for the ASPR Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP). HPP and PHEP support building healthcare coalitions in communities throughout the nation, to improve the delivery of medical care during emergencies, the needs for which may exceed the conventional medical capabilities within a community during incident response. Investments in
HCC's are helping to prepare the healthcare workforce for response is already proving beneficial. HCC Planning has supported local emergency responses, resulting in less reliance on federal assets and greater community capacity to respond to their own.
