Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) for Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)
Effective for claims with dates of service on and after August 4, 2010, contractors shall be aware that the use of allogeneic HSCT for treatment of MDS is only covered by Medicare if provided in the context of a Medicare-approved clinical study meeting specific criteria under the CED paradigm.
