Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Chronic Non-Healing Wounds

Effective for claims with dates of service on or after August 2, 2012, CMS will cover autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) only for the treatment of chronic non-healing diabetic, venous and/or pressure wounds when PRP is provided under a clinical research study that meets specific requirements to assess the health outcomes of PRP for the treatment of chronic non-healing diabetic, venous and/or pressure wounds.
