CMS Manual System Pub 100-04 Medicare Claims Processing Transmittal 1324: Anesthesia Services Furnished by the Same Physician Providing the Medical and Surgical Service
Guidance for contractors regarding revisions to anesthesia policy to be consistent with the pricing of conscious sedation codes under the Medicare physician fee schedule and CPT coding guidelines. New language has been added that explains the payment policy if the same physician performs the medical/surgical service and the conscious sedation service. .
