Question: What is a Plan Variant?

Answer: The 16 - Digit Plan ID that issuers submit in their Enrollment and Claims files to the EDGE Server are made up of two parts: - A Standard Component ID (SCID) which is 14 Digits - A Variant which is 2 Digits Variants fall within one of the below groups: - 00 - Plans that are offered off - Exchange - 01 - Plans that are offered on - Exchange The following variants are offered in the Individual Market only: - 02,03 - on - Exchange Reduced Cost Sharing Variants - 04,05,06 - on - Exchange Silver CSR Plans - 31-36 -Medicaid Plans
