2020 ICD-10 CM & PCS files

2020 ICD-10-CM files

These files include updates for FY 2020. Use these codes for discharges occurring from October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020 and for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020.

2020 ICD-10-PCS files

These files include updates for FY 2020. Use these codes for discharges occurring from October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020.

In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, CMS implemented 12 new procedure codes to describe the introduction or infusion of therapeutics into the ICD-10-PCS, effective August 01, 2020.

The files below contain information on the ICD-10-PCS COVID-19 updates effective with discharges on and after August 1, 2020.

Note:
There is no FY 2020 GEMs file. As stated in the FY 2016 IPPS/LTCH PPS final rule (80 FR 49388), the GEMs have been updated on an annual basis as part of the ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee meetings process and will continue to be updated for approximately 3 years after ICD-10 is implemented.

These files include updates for FY 2019. Use these codes for discharges occurring from October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019 and for patient encounters occurring from October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019.

These files include updates for FY 2019. Use these codes for discharges occurring from October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019.

Note:

These files contain information on the new diagnosis coding system, ICD-10-CM, that's a replacement for ICD-9-CM, Volumes 1 and 2. Use these codes for services provided from October 1, 2015 – September 30, 2016.

ICD-10 MS-DRG Conversion Project

This section contains information on using the General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs) to convert the MS-DRGs to ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and similar conversion projects. The Final ICD-10 MS-DRG v33 logic was implemented on October 1, 2015. For information on the ICD-10 MS-DRG and MCE v33 including ordering the software, see the FY 2016 Acute Inpatient PPS page.
