National Coverage Determination (NCD 30.3.3): Acupuncture for Chronic Low Back Pain (cLBP)
This article informs you that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will cover acupuncture for chronic Low Back Pain (cLBP) effective for claims with dates of service (DOS) on and after January 21, 2020. Note that CMS still determines that acupuncture for treatment of fibromyalgia or osteoarthritis is still not considered reasonable and necessary and remain noncovered by Medicare.
