The issue briefs here are intended to stimulate thoughts, spark creative ideas, and help State Agencies (SAs) launch program innovations. They aren't intended to include all SA practices about a particular topic, but rather give a sampling of various state approaches as tools and support for new and current surveyors.
Also, posting of these Promising Practices briefs doesn't represent an endorsement by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Rather, these issue briefs are a way to help disseminate information about effective methods various SAs have implemented to help improve their survey performance.
