Guidance for extending the timeframe for states to demonstrate compliance with the settings requirements to March 17, 2022. This extension permitted states and providers an additional three years to demonstrate true community integration of individuals receivingMedicaid HCBS. In light of impactsfrom COVID-19, and to ensure the continued delivery of quality Medicaid HCBS to beneficiaries, CMS will allow states an additional year, through March 17, 2023, to complete implementation of activities required to demonstrate compliance with the settings criteria.
