Texting of Patient Information among Healthcare Providers in Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs)

Guidance for texting patient information among members of the Hospital and CAHs health care team. It is permissible if accomplished through a secure platform. Texting of patient orders is prohibited regardless of the platform utilized.
