Updates to Chapter 1, “General Provisions”
This transmittal describes the revisions made to
Chapter 1, General Provisions. The revisions that were made include the addition of
definitions for ‘Employer Group Health Plan’ and ‘Employer/Union-Only Group Waiver
Plan’; clarification of the definitions for ‘Institutionalized’ and ‘Special Needs Plans’ and
clarification of when cost plans would receive non-renewal notices. Several references to
other chapters of the Medicare Managed Care Manual have also been updated.
