Question: What does Record Code Type 02 signify in the Reconciliation Outbound (RCNO) file?

Answer: The 02 Record in the RCNO file refers to the summary record for the Health Insurance Oversight System (HIOS) ID that corresponds to the 01 detail records. Each set of 01 records corresponds to a single 02 record and represents a 'logical file'. These logical files are aggregated into a single physical file by Trading Partner ID and transmitted to the issuer via secure Electronic File Transfer (EFT).
