Caroline Goon
Director of External Affairs, White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI)
Caroline Goon is the Director of External Affairs at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. In this role, she works to build and maintain relationships with community groups, and supports engagement efforts with a variety of partners and collaborators across the United States to advance equity, justice and opportunity for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific islander (AA and NHPI) communities.
Caroline was previously the Principal Strategist for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Employment Portfolio in the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the National Institutes of Health. Her career includes various higher education administration roles, where she specialized in career strategy and professional development, recruitment of biomedical graduate students, and creating solutions to help address enrollment and retention challenges facing students from underrepresented communities. Caroline holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases from Georgetown University, and she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
