Haley Tran
Staff Assistant, WHIAANHPI
Haley Tran serves as Staff Assistant at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, where she helps to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for AA and NHPI communities.
Prior to joining the initiative, Haley worked under the initiative through the University of California Washington Program (UCDC). As a Southern California Native and daughter to Vietnamese immigrants, Haley has a deep-rooted connection to her community. She coordinated programs and events fostering Vietnamese youth empowerment through her executive positions in the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM) and Vietnamese Student Association (VSA). Haley also supported first-generation students during her work with Teaching for Justice (TFJ), and UCI’s Center for Writing and Excellence. Haley graduated Magna Cum laude from the University of California, Irvine, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Biological Sciences in 2024. After interning for the congressional district (CA-45), a district with one of the largest concentrations of AA and NHPIs in the nation, Haley looks forward to furthering her commitment and career in public service at WHIAANHPI.
