PSC maintains a public website which is accessible, searchable for a list of decisions on cases considered by the Board for Correction of Public Health Service (PHS) Commissioned Corps Records (Board). The purpose of the decisions is to provide a record of Board precedents and examples that can assist potential applicants in preparing applications. The decisions do not include any identifying facts or information that could be associated with any specific applicant or case considered by the Board.
Most cases decided before 2002 are not listed or not available for several reasons, including but not limited to: related decisions of the U.S. Court of Federal Appeals; changes in law, policy, and regulation that make the decision no longer applicable; determinations that the decision exceeded the authority of the Board; and determinations that the decision deals with a situation that no longer exists in the Commissioned Corps etc. The Board no longer considers these older, not listed cases as precedence setting.
