Session: Preventing HIV Infections in Men

Although the HIV prevalence in men is frequently lower than women in the African context, men are less likely to be HIV tested, to initiate timely ART and may have poorer treatment outcomes. Ambassador Jimmy Kolker, former Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs (2011-2017), moderated a panel aimed at highlighting best practices and lessons learned from HIV prevention efforts for men.
HHS Day: Leveraging Partnerships to Achieve an AIDS-free Generation, July 18
HHS is poised to make significant contributions to reaching PEPFAR 3.0 targets. Former Assistant Secretary Kolker convened “HHS Day” to strengthen collaboration among the Department’s agencies—including CDC, FDA, HRSA, NIH, SAMHSA, and OGA—accelerate progress toward achieving an AIDS-free generation.
