Dr. Genevieve Mbamalu
Director of Clinical Health Service (CHS)
Dr. Genevieve Mbamalu is the Director of Clinical Health Service (CHS) at the Federal Occupational Health within the Program Support Center. In this capacity, Dr. Mbamalu is responsible for managing business operations, nursing services, medical surveillance, and providing the resources to support customer agencies. Service areas include hearing conservation, medical employability, medical surveillance, worker’s compensation, onsite health clinics, and occupational health clinics.
Dr. Mbamalu is a registered nurse and a board-certified nurse executive (NE-BC). Prior to this role, Dr. Mbamalu worked as Service Chief of Neuroscience, Behavioral Health, and Pediatrics with the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and as Chief of Acute Care and Mental Health Nursing Services with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
Dr. Mbamalu completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with a concentration in executive leadership. She also has a Master's in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She serves as Adjunct Faculty in the DNP program at Wilkes University and has published in the Nephrology Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing journals to assist with disseminating evidence-based nursing practice. Dr. Mbamalu is a member of the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American Nurses Association.
